Nothing says “quick and easy” like pasta. It pairs so well with a variety of sauces, cheeses, vegetables and meats that you could say “Pasta goes with everything!”
Pasta comes in a range of shapes and textures, differing as well in terms of the ingredients and methods used to make them. “Pasta pundits” will argue that it is imperative for you to select the right type of pasta to match your dish.
Everyone will agree, though, that if you need a tasty dish in a hurry, going with pasta is a safe bet!

1. Easy Chicken Alfredo

We start off with a super easy and super tasty dish. Cook fettuccini or linguini until just soft. Drain it and set it aside. Heat together Alfredo sauce, cooked and cubed chicken breast, milk, sliced mushrooms and frozen vegetables. Serve the sauce over the pasta, grab a fork and jump right in!

2. Penne with Shrimp and Herbed Cream Sauce

From the wine to the red pepper flakes, the flavors in this dish come together so well. Boil some penne pasta until just soft, drain and set it aside. Sauté the shrimp with garlic, salt and pepper until the shrimp is cooked through and has turned pink. Set it aside as well. Cook some tomatoes with basil, parsley and red pepper flakes then add in white wine, clam juice and heavy cream. Allow it to boil then lower it to a simmer until it thickens. Add in some Parmesan, the shrimp and pasta, plus some more basil and parsley. Toss and season with more salt and pepper, if you like. Serve immediately with a sprinkle of cheese and bask in all those compliments to the chef!

3. Creamy Lemon and Cabbage Pasta with Garlic Crumbs

Garlic crumbs add just the right amount of flavor to each mouthful of this yummy dish. Mix bread crumbs, oil and one finely chopped garlic glove. Spread the mixture on a baking tray and allow it to get crisp and golden in a preheated oven. Set it aside. Sauté garlic and onion then add white wine and lemon zest. After it has reduced a little, add crème fraiche. Set it aside but keep it warm. Boil twist, farfalle or penne pasta, adding in the cabbage when the pasta is just soft. Drain and toss with the creamy sauce, sprinkling the crumbs on top as you serve and enjoy its quiet sophistication.

4. Broccoli and Pecorino Pasta

Broccoli and anchovies add tasty nutrition to this meal. Boil broccoli florets and puree some of them along with oil, coarsely grated pecorino (or Parmesan) cheese and salt and pepper to taste. Set the rest of the broccoli aside. Cook orecchiette pasta with the broccoli stalks and set them aside. Sauté garlic with chilies and anchovies then add in the broccoli-pasta and broccoli-cheese mixtures along with some rocket and salt. Toss until the rocket wilts. Add a squeeze of lemon and toss some more before serving topped with pecorino cheese. Have this flavorful dish with a bit of crusty bread and yes – it’s comfort food time!

A creamy Alfredo sauce takes the lead in this dish! Cook the fettuccine pasta, drain it and set it aside. Sauté the asparagus with a little salt and pepper. Remove it from the heat and add in some lemon rind and lemon juice. Set it aside and keep it warm. Add vodka and garlic to the saucepan with melted butter, then add cream cheese and stir the mixture until smooth. Stir in the Parmesan cheese, milk, salt, pepper, pasta, a little pasta water and the asparagus. Serve with a sprinkle of chives for that little extra “pop” of flavor.

Give your children a real treat with this dinner dish! Brown and crumble Italian sausage. Drain the excess fat then stir in pepperoni to heat through. Stir in oregano, tomato sauce, basil garlic powder, salt, pepper, rotini pasta and water. Let it boil then simmer until the pasta is cooked. Remove the pan from the heat and top it with pepperoni and mozzarella cheese. Place in a preheated oven and allow it to get melted and golden brown. Serve immediately with a garnish of parsley, if you like and enjoy your creation with everyone else at the table.

7. Lemon Chicken Pasta

Put some water to boil for the pasta. Combine flour and seasoning salt in a zip-top bag. Add bite-sized pieces of chicken and shake the bag to completely coat the chicken. Fry the chicken in garlic butter until brown. Add the penne pasta to the boiling water. While it’s cooking, stir chicken base into the chicken mixture, then add lemon juice, white wne and whipping cream. Let it simmer for a while before adding the drained pasta and giving it a final stir.

8. Easy Salmon And Spring Vegetable Pasta

Here is an easy dish to impress your dinner guests. Place farfalle or penne pasta in boiling water along with chopped carrots and green beans. Let them cook a little then add chopped courgettes and frozen peas and let it cook some more. Save a little of the pasta water as you drain it and return it to the pot. Add cooked salmon flakes, the pasta water, grated lemon zest and either crème fraiche or single cream. Season it with salt and pepper as you give it a good stir. Serve it with flair as you add a topping of grated Parmesan cheese.

9. Bucatini with Walnut-Parsley Pesto

Simplicity is the charm of this tasty dish! Toast walnuts in a preheated oven until they are slightly dark then set them aside to cool. Use a blender or food processor to finely chop some of the toasted walnuts. Place them in a bowl to make your pesto and stir in garlic, parsley, oil and Parmesan then season it with salt and pepper. Cook the bucatini until just soft. Reserve some of the liquid as you drain the pasta and return it to the pot. Pour in the pesto and add sufficient of the pasta water to make a glossy sauce that nicely coats the pasta. Crush the remaining walnuts and use them along with some parsley to garnish your yummy meal!
